Peer Feedback

Peer feedback is a crucial aspect of the writing process, enabling students to engage in meaningful revision while refining their analytical and critical reading skills. In my comments on my peer’s paper, I demonstrated the ability to approach writing as a recursive process, offering suggestions that encourage substantial revisions. Peer feedback demonstrates achievement of critical thinking, communication, active reading and helping with global revision early in the writing process and later in the writing process.

The learning outcome for peer feedback is number 4, and a bit of number 3.

3) Employ techniques of active reading, critical reading, and informal reading response for inquiry, learning, and thinking

4) Be able to critique their own and others’ work by emphasizing global revision early in the writing process and local revision later in the process

When we provide feedback for our peers and when we receive feedback we are engaged in evaluating arguments, assessing clarity, and identifying areas for improvement. Demonstrating comprehension is shown with peer feedback that what we are reading we understand and can apply it to critique another’s work. How constructive comments help guide peers toward refining their ideas, improving organization, and strengthening arguments. Writing clear specific feedback helps with articulating thoughts that helps with early global revision early on in the writing process and local revision later in the process. Reviewing others work often help others recognize strengths and weaknesses in their own writing. Peer feedback helps with personal growth in writing and our peer’s growth with their writing.
